My Dog's Butt Is Pinkand Inflamed

"Selection" - review

Today is the 28th January and finally released "The selection of" official in German and I can finally publish my review. :-)

Selection ~ Ally Condie

The first sentence:
Now that I've figured out how I can fly, what direction should I take out there in the night?

blurb:
The system says, whom you shall love - but what does your heart say?
Imagine before, you live in a world that provides a completely secure life. But for that you have to bend up to the laws of the system, love the people, which is meant for you. What would you do? risk for the true love of your life? For the 17-year-old Cassia today the most important day of her life: She learns who they will marry at 21. But the results surprised everyone: Xander, Cassias best friend, has been selected as their partner from the system. When, however, apparently due to a technical defect, the image of another boy at the ceremony presented Microchip turns up, Cassia is suspicious. The system can really decide who they should love?

Opinion:
The history of cassia and Ky begins quietly, quietly and peacefully. It shows a future world to be perfect for their inhabitants seem. People seem to have no problems or concerns. For all they do is controlled by the government and the so-called system and determined. Be it food, clothes, fitness program, the selection of future career or the perfect partner for life.
People have learned that it is better that would otherwise be their ideal world again into chaos. As it has happened before.
Cassia has never questioned this way of life. She is happy and satisfied with their lives and can not wait their future life partner of systems assigned to get. This is the man best suits her. When the system finally her best friend Xander chooses for them, Cassia is confused at first but begins to make friends with the idea. She gets a microchip on the data stored on Xander. But when they want to see this on the next day, it's not that Xander's face appears rather that of another boy also knows the Cassia, Ky., a boy from the neighborhood ...
From that day to begin Cassias life to change. It begins growing in the government and the system to doubt. Ky is also so different than all the people she knew before, something particularly distinguishes him and he hides a secret which he revealed Cassia slowly. When coming closer, however, Cassia and Ky, the fate takes its course ...

As already mentioned, the story begins very quiet but what is regarded negatively in any way. Cassia is not a rebellious character, such as Katniss from "The Tribute of Panem. She takes her life back the way it is given to it. Only when she meets Ky change their views and they recognize that their world and life at large is not as perfect as the government entrichtert humans. So she begins to question everything and gets along with Ky more and more into the focus of the government ...

The characters and the fictitious future world are worked out very well. Ky and Cassia were sympathetic to me are from the beginning and me in the course of the book has grown increasingly fond of. But Xander is a very sympathetic character. The author makes a lot of time to their world, their structure and to describe the characters. The history could not be stopped but allows for a totally immersed in this world.
The end of the book was equally shocking and surprising and leaves the reader with anger, grief and hope (Cassia feelings hitherto alien) were returned.
I'm really looking forward to Volume 2!

Conclusion:
A wonderful prelude to a new Trilogy! I can recommend this book to anyone especially those readers have fallen, "The Tribute of Panem. Although the two is at first glance have little in common, however, a certain connection in the plot of the books.
