Alan Wake: GDC 2011 - So there was no release for the PC

Remedy Entertainment has now announced that the decision to cancel the PC version, not of them came and gave reasons why.

At the Game Developers Conference held Markus Maki and Olli Tervo, said both developed by Remedy, a speech to the game and why Alan Wake did not appear for the PC. Alan Wake should therefore appear even for Xbox 360, PC and PS3. The PS3 version, however, was scrapped after the deal with Microsoft, so the Xbox 360 to Lead-platform. Maki and Tervo was claimed to The PC team but great difficulty in the game to port to the PC. After the game but was never officially for the PC, developer Remedy stated that the eerie time and resource costs were too high for the port. A short time later there were rumors that Microsoft Alan Wake wanted to have exclusive for the Xbox 360 to push the console. Through an interview with Markus Maki following the speech, this assumption is now confirmed: ".. I can say right now really nothing I can say is that there was no decision on a technological basis, and it was not made in Finland."
(English: "I can not really discuss that. I will say that it wasn'ta technological call. And it was not made in Finland. ") When the news came last year on the cancellation of the PC version was still at Remedy as a reason that it made more sense to the game on the Xbox 360 publish than the PC. "Frankly, we're a small studio. We're 50 people, and being a small studio, it makes a lot more sense for us to focus on one platform, "said Hakkinen Oskari in April 2010 for the release of Alan Wake. "Currently we're fully focused on the Xbox version, and [as for] what the future holds, we have not got anything to announce, and we have not thought that far right now."
